When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the importance of local food systems became ever more clear, and organizations like Market Central were suddenly at the center of supporting a community in need. Through brand strategy, content creation, and board leadership, HERD Ventures played a key role in helping Market Central expand to serve even more local citizens. Key aspects of support included a video explaining the usability of SNAP benefits and access to fresh food, photography highlighting vendors to draw in customers, and collaboration with other board members to lead the organization.
